The health care battle has been a brutal one. The outcome is somewhat disappointing. But there will be a result that will bring health insurance to more americans including the ones who need it most. We saw how brutal that process was. But, at the risk of sounding contrarian, things aren't as bad as they seem, especially considering the total lack of participation in the process by the republican party. There have been successes. This page from Politifact helps provide some perspective.

I ditto it all Mr. Fenton, I too am very disappointed in the "business as usual" disquised as change years from now which will never become a reality. I believe our founders and ancestors of this great nation paid with their blood to establish change and to rid themselves of oppression so it seems to me that Revolution is the only voice left for the American people who are the truely oppressed. Somehow the ballot box turned into a shreader and our votes became fodder. I cannot believe, with the state of our econmony that ananarchy hasn't taken place.

Painful but true. My realization that the corporate interests are the only interests was soon followed by resignation. If there's a household that should not be hurting, it's us, but an employer's bankruptcy, a daughter in college, an unemployed, disabled adult son, no real estate market, and evaporated savings has us fearing the future. I haven't heard from the DNC, but if I do, they're gonna get the ol' CTRL+C, CTRL+V.

Right on. I think more and more people are losing faith in this current 2 party system. It appears as though both parties appear to be in bed, not only with each other, but with each other's corporate sponsors. Not really sure what the answer is, but this definitely isn't it. If we continue on this path, our children's children will be in a world of hurt. Something's got to give.

Well said... I had no faith in the motto of change. In this day and age, only a person that can gererate lots of campaign money can be elected, and it seems that the only way of generating that money is to bow down to big business.

We concern ourselves with the Dictators of other countries thinking that we have freedom to elect our leaders while they don't, but in reality, the names and faces of our leaders change, but their leadership doesn't.
